In recognition of National Naloxone (Narcan) Awareness Day on June 6, we encourage all residents to get a free Narcan kit and learn how to use it — because in an opioid overdose, every second counts.

Deaths from opioids and synthetic opioids like fentanyl continue at an alarming rate in Washington State. Opioid overdoses can happen to anyone — through medication confusion, post-surgical dependency, recreational drug use, long-term dependency, or street drugs laced with fentanyl.

• Unresponsiveness — can't be awakened
• Slowed or stopped breathing
• Cold, clammy skin
• Blue or purple lips or nails
• Gurgling or snoring sounds

⭐ Our community showed up and it made a real difference last month.⭐

On April 23rd and 24th, Snoqualmie Fire Department partnered with Bloodworks Northwest for a 2-day mobile blood drive.

Here's what you made happen:
🩸 31 donors gave 31 units of blood, including 2 first-time donors!

Bloodworks Northwest is an independent, non-profit organization harnessing donor gifts to provide a safe, lifesaving blood supply to 95% of hospitals in the Pacific Northwest.

Did you know? One unit of blood is roughly one pint, which is about 10% of what's in your body. Since each unit can be separated into red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, a single donation can help up to 3 different patients. That means this community may have touched the lives of up to 93 people in need. 💙

Want to donate at an upcoming blood drive at Fire Station 155?

𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟰𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 🚒
🎂 In 1986, a 3-year-old boy in Wisconsin celebrated his birthday with a fire truck cake. This April, 40 years to the day later, he turned 43 in the Fire Station 155 kitchen, cake in front of him and badge on his chest. Clearly, Scott Loehndorf always knew what he meant to do.

Scott served 21 years in the Navy as a firefighter. During his service, he volunteered at South Kitsap Fire & Rescue and later worked part time at Getchell Fire Department in Arlington. In January 2025, he accepted a lateral firefighter position at City of Snoqualmie Fire Department.

Scott has been fighting fires as a civilian firefighter for 7 years, and is also our Public Safety Educator, helping our community stay safer and better prepared.

🎉 Big thanks to Scott for a lifetime of service to your country, state, and the people of our community. We are incredibly lucky to have you.
