🚨 TRAFFIC & EMERGENCY RESPONSE NOTICE 🚨

Please use extreme caution in the area of S NC 87 and Bayfield Road.

Several emergency service vehicles and personnel are currently operating in the area due to an incident involving a large commercial structure.

🚒 Please slow down and move over for emergency vehicles and personnel.
🚧 Expect increased emergency traffic and possible delays in the area.
⚠️ Please avoid the area if possible and allow responders the room they need to work safely.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as emergency crews work on scene.

Please do not stop to take pictures or interfere with emergency operations.

Increased Risk of Wildfire Due to Elevated Fire Danger -- Thursday, June 18, 2026

The National Weather Service has issued fire danger statements for central and eastern North Carolina. What does increased fire danger mean for you today?

🎯 Fires can start from the smallest spark.
🎯 Dry conditions and wind increase fire spread.
🎯 Everyday activities carry more risk right now.

Avoid burning, and be cautious with anything that could cause a spark. Properly dispose of smoking materials such as ci******es. Be extremely careful with machinery and farm equipment when working outdoors.

🚨 Dry Conditions Reminder 🚨

While there is currently no burn ban in effect, conditions across our area remain extremely dry. Even a small fire can spread quickly and become difficult to control.

Before you burn, ask yourself: “Does this really need to be burned today?”

If you choose to burn:
🔥 Check weather conditions and avoid burning on windy days.
🔥 Keep a water source and tools readily available.
🔥 Never leave a fire unattended.
🔥 Ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.

Our firefighters would much rather see you postpone a burn than respond to a preventable wildfire.

Please use caution, be responsible, and help us protect our community.

Two dogs spotted at Snow Camp Fire Sta 16 on the corner on Carl Noah Rd and Bass Mountain Rd while preforming Station checks. One great Dane and one possibly German Shepherd, no tag on the collar if this is your dog or knows who it is, please let us know or come by Station 16.
