It was a pleasure spending time today at the 22nd Annual Cash & Bike Bash hosted by our dedicated men and women of the Girdletree Volunteer Fire Department.

This event has become a wonderful tradition that brings our community together for a day of reminiscing, fun, and support for one of our organizations that stands ready to answer the call whenever our residents need them.

From the excitement of the drawings and motorcycles to the opportunity to catch up with friends, neighbors, and supporters, it was a great reminder of what makes our Worcester County such a special place to call home.

I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to organize another successful event, as well as all those who attended and continue to support volunteer emergency services. The commitment and sacrifice of our volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel do not go unnoticed, and events like this help ensure they have the resources needed to continue serving our communities.

It was an honor to be there, and I look forward to supporting this outstanding event for many years to come. Stay safe, Worcester County! 🇺🇸🚒🏍️

Remembering D-Day June 6, 1944

Today, I think it’s important that we pause to remember the brave Allied servicemen who, 82 years ago, landed on the beaches of Normandy and changed the course of our history.

Their courage in the face of overwhelming danger helped secure the freedoms we enjoy today. Many never returned home, making the ultimate sacrifice for future generations they would never meet…. We must always remember!

As we reflect on their heroism, let us honor the members of the Greatest Generation and all who have served our nation with courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication.

May we never forget the price of freedom.

God bless our veterans, our active-duty military, and our United States of America.

One of the greatest privileges of serving as your Sheriff is the opportunity to be present in the moments that matter most to our community.

Whether it’s attending high school graduations, celebrating young men and women who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, recognizing local achievements, supporting community events, standing alongside our first responders, or simply spending time with residents throughout Worcester County, I have always believed that leadership begins with being present.

Over the years, I have had the honor of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with our deputies at countless events, meeting with residents in every corner of our county, and representing Worcester County in Annapolis as I advocate for the values, traditions, and way of life that make the Eastern Shore such a special place to call home.

Being Sheriff is about much more than managing an agency. It is about being visible, accessible, and engaged with the people we serve. It means listening to concerns, celebrating successes, sharing in difficult moments, and building relationships that strengthen the trust between law enforcement and our community. I have and always will be a very present Sheriff!

Our residents deserve a Sheriff who is present, involved, and connected to the community every day, not just when it’s convenient, but whenever and wherever needed.

I am incredibly grateful for every invitation, every conversation, and every opportunity to serve. Worcester County is more than the place I serve, it’s my home, and I remain committed to being a visible, engaged, and accessible Sheriff for our people of our county every single day.

Thank you for this opportunity!

Worcester County, you deserve tempered and disciplined leadership, with my administration, that is what we are honored to give you.

I believe we still have a lot of exciting events and work ahead of us!

I am truly humbled by the overwhelming support I continue to receive from so many people throughout Worcester County. The kind words, encouragement, invitations to community events, and the number of residents proudly displaying campaign signs mean more to me than I can adequately express.

Serving as your Sheriff has been the honor of my lifetime, and I never take your trust, confidence, or support for granted. Every day, I am reminded how blessed I am to serve such an incredible community.

As we continue moving forward, I want to make sure everyone who has requested a campaign sign receives one. Tonight, I had the privilege of attending Snow Hill High School’s graduation ceremony and celebrating another outstanding class of graduates.

As I listened to our student speakers, I was struck by a common theme that has echoed through all three of our county high school graduations this year, the blessings of growing up in a small community.

Their words were heartfelt, genuine, and a reminder of what makes Worcester County such a special place to call our home. In a small community, your teachers know your name. Your coaches become mentors. Your classmates become lifelong friends. Your neighbors cheer for your successes, support you through challenges, and take pride in watching you grow.

There is something truly special about seeing young men and women who have been raised in communities like Snow Hill, Pocomoke, and Berlin reflect on the people and experiences that helped shape them into the adults they are becoming. Their speeches reminded all of us that while our graduates may pursue opportunities near and far, the values, friendships, and memories formed in these small towns will remain with them forever.

Congratulations to the Snow Hill High School Class of 2026. Your community is proud of you, your families are proud of you, and your future is bright. May you always remember where you came from and the many people who helped you along the way.

Best wishes as you begin the next chapter of your journey.

I was very fortunate to be a part of your special evening.

Congratulations to our Stephen Decatur High School graduates!

I was honored to attend your special evening!

Today is a day filled with pride, excitement, emotion, and reflection. For many of you, it feels like just yesterday you were walking into school for the very first time, and now you are stepping into an entirely new chapter of life. The memories, friendships, lessons, and experiences you have shared along the way will stay with you forever.

Living in a close-knit community like ours makes moments like this even more special. We have watched many of you grow up through the years, on the ballfields, in our schools, at community events, and throughout Worcester County. Seeing you reach this milestone is something your families, teachers, and community should all be incredibly proud of.

To the parents, grandparents, teachers, and loved ones who stood beside these graduates every step of the way, thank you for the guidance, encouragement, and support you provided through every challenge and every success.

To our graduates, enjoy this moment. Be proud of how far you have come. No matter where life leads you next, always remember the values, friendships, and memories that helped shape who you are today.

Congratulations, Stephen Decatur Class of 2026. Your community is proud of you, and we wish you nothing but success and happiness in the journey ahead.

Today, I stood proudly alongside 16 Sheriffs from across the State of Maryland as we take a strong and principled stand against the so called “Community Trust Act”.

Public safety should never become politicized. Our brave men and women of law enforcement deserve clarity in the law, support from their leaders, and the ability to carry out the duties they swore an oath to uphold protecting our communities and keeping Maryland families safe.

This lawsuit is about standing for the rule of law, safeguarding the voice and authority of local jurisdictions, and ensuring that the concerns of law enforcement professionals are heard and respected at the highest levels of government.

As Sheriff, I will continue standing shoulder to shoulder with my fellow Sheriffs and with our dedicated deputies who put on the badge every day to serve our residents.

Worcester County will always support proactive, professional law enforcement and the safety of our communities we were elected to serve.

Tonight, it was truly remarkable to celebrate our graduating Class of 2026 at Pocomoke High School.

There is something very special about small-town America, and evenings like this remind me exactly why. In communities like ours, you do not just watch children grow up from a distance, you become part of each other’s lives and journeys over the years.

As I looked around the field tonight, I could not help but feel a deep sense of nostalgia and gratitude. Many of the teachers and parents there are friends I had the privilege of working with years ago during my time teaching D.A.R.E. in our schools. Back then, we were all working together to guide, encourage, and invest in these young students. Now, years later, we are standing together watching them walk toward their bright futures.

That is the beauty of a close-knit community like Pocomoke. Generations grow together. Relationships matter. Families, educators, law enforcement, coaches, mentors, and neighbors all play a role in helping to shape our next generation.

To the Class of 2026 congratulations. Your community is proud of you. No matter where life takes you, never forget your hometown roots, the people who believed in you, and the values that helped shape who you are today.

May God bless each of you as you begin this next chapter of your lives.
