We are starting something new here at SHPD, do you know someone between the of 14-21 that is interested in learning about law enforcement. You do, GREAT!! Come join our Law Enforcement Exploring Program, Post 126.

This program is designed to give teens and young adults hands on experience with law enforcement training. The members of this program will have the opportunity in the future to attend competitions to complete against other explorers, in all that they learn with the training that they receive from us here at SHPD.

Being a law enforcement explorer teaches everything from responsibility to accountability. It helps young adults decide about their future, all while helping them decide what career path they choose to take. Meetings will be held every other Thursday from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Snow Hill Police Department.

If you know someone who is interested we will be holding an interest meeting this coming Wednesday, December 3rd 2025, starting at 6:30pm. at Snow Hill Police Department, parents/legal guardians and future explorer's are encouraged to attend.

If you have any questions or concerns please call (252) 560-9022 and ask for Officer Lancaster

***CASE UPDATE***

Thanks to the help of the public, all the individuals in the photos posted below have been identified and charged accordingly.

DO YOU KNOW US?

On 07/26/2025 around 1:35 pm, Snow Hill Police Department received a call about a larceny that had already occurred at Piggly Wiggly (414 Kingold Blvd., Snow Hill). Units responded to Piggly Wiggly to take the larceny report. The three individuals posted below walked around the store for a short period of time before placing 2 2pack Ribeye Steaks, A1 sauce, Lawry's steak marinade and Allegro steak marinade into a purse and walking out of the store. Two of the individuals made two separate purchases for small items from the store to not make anything seem suspicious, but that didn't stop the cameras from catching the crime they committed minutes before.

Anyone with any information on the identities of the three individuals below are asked to contact the Snow Hill Police Department at 252-560-9022.

**SHOOTING UPDATE**
A second arrest has been made in the June 4th, 2025 shooting that occurred on Jordan Ave.
On June 6th, 2025, arrest warrants were obtained for De’onta Raequn “Rockout” Dixon, 20, of Maury, NC for his involvement in the shooting that occurred on Jordan Ave. On July 5th, 2025, deputies with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of Hwy 123 N and Hwy 258 N, in which Dixon was a passenger in the vehicle.

Subsequent to his arrest for his active warrants, Dixon was also in possession of a stolen firearm and charged additionally. Dixon was arrest without incident and taken before a magistrate at the Greene County Jail, where he received no bond due to the Pretrial Integrity Act.

This is great law enforcement work by the Snow Hill Police Department and Greene County Sheriff's Office to being one stop closer to getting this case closed.

This is still an ongoing investigation and additional suspects/charges are pending. Anyone with information is urged to contact Corporal Payton by telephone at 252-560-9022.
