Snyder Community Resource Center is partnering with Scurry Adult Welfare and the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center for our annual Beat the Heat fan drive sponsored by TXU Energy!

🗓 Thursday, June 4th
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
📍 Scurry County Senior Citizens Center, 2605 Avenue M , Snyder, TX

This event is open to any Scurry County resident who needs access to cool air this summer. Fans will be available while supplies last.

Jury update from District Clerk:

If you were called to report for jury service on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, please note your service has been rescheduled to Monday, June 15, 2026.
Please be sure to call the office before reporting on June 15th to verify the trial will go forward.
The new phone number is 325-573-9316 then press 2 for District Offices, then 1 for District Clerk. A recording will play the most updated information 24/7. Thank you.

Scurry County Court will be on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 @ 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. If you are on the docket (a posted public record) below and fail to attend there will be additional charges, and a warrant issued for your arrest.
Conduct in Courtroom:
1. Appropriate Dress
DO dress as if you are going to a professional job interview.
DO make sure that undergarments do not show.
DO NOT wear:
Shorts of any length, cut-offs, tank top or spaghetti strap tops, backless clothing, clothing that is low-cut in the front, shirts that expose the mid-section, work-out clothes, pajamas, swim wear, yoga pants, pants that will not stay up, mini-skirts, sunglasses, hats, house shoes or flip flops. Clothing with pictures; vulgar, racist, sexist, obscene, illegal, or suggestive words and/or depictions will not be allowed.
2. Phone use
All mobile phones and pagers will be turned off while in the courtroom. It is not acceptable for phones to be on silent or airplane mode. Phones may not be used in the courtroom even when court is not in session.
3. Food & Drink
No food, no drinks, no chewing gum
4. Talking
No talking when Judge is in the courtroom.
5. Children
Do not bring children to the courthouse when you appear before a judge unless you have an adult to watch them outside the courtroom. Children are not allowed in the courtroom unless authorized by the Judge.

Scurry County offices will remain closed for the remainder of today while the water system restores pressure.

Due to the ongoing boil water notice and the repressurization of the city water system following overnight repairs, Scurry County offices will not open until 10:00 AM today, Thursday, May 14, 2026.

IMPORTANT JURY UPDATE FROM DISTRICT CLERK: If you were called for jury duty to report on April 20th, be advised your service is rescheduled to TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 2026 at 8:30AM. We ask you to call our office prior to reporting on April 28th to verify the trial will go forward. In addition, please make note our phone number will change to 325-573-9316 next week. Once you call the new number you will be prompted to enter #2 for District Offices then #1 for District Clerk. Thank you for your patience and understanding through these changes.

NOTICE:
COURTHOUSE AND ANNEX PHONE NUMBER CHANGE

Effective Thursday April 16, 2026, Scurry County Courthouse and Annex will have one phone number for each building instead of a number for each office. When you call the main number, you will be given a numerical option to dial for each department.

All other department numbers will remain the same.
