****PRESS RELEASE****
RELEASED BY: Lieutenant/ EMT Logan VanBeckum
INCIDENT TYPE: Structure Fire
LOCATION: Area of Jameson Way
DATE/TIME OF INCIDENT: August 08, 2026 at 07:28 A.M.
INCIDENT NARRATIVE:
The Little Suamico Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire after receiving information that smoke alarms were sounding and smoke was filling the residence.
Little Suamico Engine 1211 arrived on scene and found a single-story, single-family, wood-frame residence with smoke showing from the garage area and the rear of the structure, visible from the roadway. Command requested MABAS Division 137 to the working still level for additional resources. Engine 1211 personnel deployed a pre-connected 1¾-inch handline into the garage. Fire personnel confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated the residence. The homeowner advised crews that the dryer, located just inside the doorway from the garage, was on fire. The homeowner also stated that electrical power to the residence had been shut off prior to exiting.
Fire crews advanced the handline to the doorway from the garage and initiated fire suppression. The fire was quickly knocked down, preventing further fire spread and property loss. Crews then began overhaul operations and checked the area surrounding the dryer for fire extension into the structure.
Due to the fire being brought under control and sufficient Little Suamico Fire Department resources on scene, the MABAS working still was canceled.
No injuries were reported.
