Soddy-Daisy Community Library Elevating the 37379, and beyond! All are welcome. We have designated the SDCL as a safe space.

Mission Statement:

The mission of KELCURT Foundation is to elevate community spirit and guide individuals and families into self-sustaining practices, helping to eliminate food insecurities and improve overall well-being utilizing the arts, sciences, education, music and literature. Vision Statement:

The KELCURT Foundation envisions a future where everyone shares knowledge, personal talents, lif

e experiences and resources through equitable access to food security, the arts and education, to elevate the lives and well-being of all. Non-Discrimination Policy:

The KELCURT Foundation / Soddy-Daisy Community Library does not discriminate against anyone for any reason. We have created a place where our patrons, no matter where they are in their human journey, can feel comfortable and respected. Values Statement:

The KELCURT Foundation’s culture is driven by integrity, empathy, and the desire to elevate individuals, families, and organizations to improve society as a whole. Community - We perceive the word community as a verb, an active coming together of persons with diverse backgrounds and ideas working together for a more dynamic future. Education - More than just learning the basics of reading, writing, and math, education is an ongoing process that brings body, mind, and spirit to higher levels. A full education incorporates the arts, sciences, life experiences, and the soft skills necessary for healthy interpersonal relationships. Food Sustainability - We believe that no one should ever have to go hungry. For those seeking food security, we will equip them with the informational tools to become self-sustaining. Needs Response - As the old saying goes, “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.” We believe that needs within the community should be sought out and addressed with action in a prompt manner. Stewardship - We believe that everyone has something to give, and that everyone has a responsibility to share those talents, abilities, and gifts to enhance the lives around them. Furthermore, we endeavor to provide opportunities for all to utilize their talents, abilities, and gifts in the elevation of others. Stewardship extends beyond human beings to encompass the earth and all of her residents and systems. Discrimination Policy - The KELCURT Foundation / Soddy-Daisy Community Library does not discriminate against anyone for any reason. At the KELCURT Foundation, all of these values were the inspiration at our inception, and are the daily motivation for our ongoing work.

Who says board members only sit around conference tables?

Not ours!

The Foundation Board of Directors is known to trade budgets and meetings for book carts, lunch tables, and whatever else needs doing. They don't just believe in our mission—they jump right in and help make it happen.

Last week, four of these amazing volunteers spent their Friday helping hand out free lunches and books to local kids during our summer programming. They worked hard, shared lots of smiles, and had just as much fun as everyone else. (We're pretty sure they enjoyed giving away free books almost as much as the kids enjoyed getting them!)

We are so thankful for a board that leads by example and serves our community with such generous hearts. Thank you, KELCURT Foundation Board of Directors—we love you and all that you do!

At KELCURT Foundation we stay in a state of gratitude but today we have someone we want to celebrate!

Today we honor Claudia Helen Inwood as it marks her 8 years of community service through our library.

Mrs Claudia comes in 2x a week to help sticker and process books for our SDCL Read 20 programming. Last year we handed out 19,400 books through this outreach and I am sure Mrs Claudia touched almost every book.

She also hosts the Cards with Claudia programming every other week She hands out books every year at our SDCL Halloween EEKstravaganza and jumps in whenever she can to do whatever is needed!

If you have ever been a patron of our library, Mrs Claudia has been behind the scenes to make your visit incredible.

Please join us as we celebrate all that Mrs Claudia has done for our community.

Thank you!!!
