Congrats to the 2026 SDMS Summer Girls and Boys Basketball Teams!!

Girls will practice Thursday from 4-6 with a quick parent meeting in the cafeteria to follow and boys will practice from 6-8 with a quick parent meeting afterwards.

Everyone showed outstanding effort and worked hard the past three days! Continue this hard work over the summer and if your child didn’t make the team at this time, there will be another tryout toward the end of September! Thank you to everyone who came out!

Today marks an historic milestone for SDMS as we begin to officially break ground on our new school building. What was once a vision has now become a reality, and we are incredibly excited about what this investment means for our students, staff, and community for generations to come.

This achievement would not have been possible without the support, leadership, and commitment of so many individuals. We extend our sincere gratitude to Rhonda Thurman, Steve Slater, Gene-O Shipley, Dr. Robertson, Weston Wamp, our Hamilton County commissioners, the Hamilton County School Board, MTA architectural firm, J&J contractors, and the many others who worked tirelessly to make this day possible. 

Thank you for believing in our students and investing in their future. The best days of Soddy Daisy Middle school are still ahead and we look forward to watching this dream take shape in the months to come.

Attention students interested in trying out for the girls’ or boys’ basketball team at SDMS:

- In order to participate in tryouts today, you must have a current physical dated after April 15, 2026.
- Either upload that physical to your Final Forms account or bring the hard copy with you to tryouts.
- Students without a valid physical will not be permitted to participate in tryouts. Please make sure all paperwork is uploaded or complete before arriving.

Our annual SDMS Twins camp will be back this summer! We would love to have all new students to SDMS in attendance! There will be two session times available. The link below will be the only way for students to register. All new students who attend will receive their schedule, meet their teachers, and learn all about SDMS! The Better Together Volunteering Campaign is planning on supporting SDMS! July 25th from 8-1 will be a work day to help with beautification efforts for our school. The tasks of the day should include: campus beautification, assembling and sealing picnic tables, and organizing our clothes closet. We are posting the link for any SDMS families or community members to sign up if you are available to volunteer your time or supplies.
