🚰 **WATER UTILITY – HYDRANT FLUSHING NOTICE** 🚰

The Village Water Utility will be conducting hydrant flushing on Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 3rd, between the hours of 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM.

Residents may experience temporary:
💧 Discoloration of the water
💧 Low water pressure
💧 Air in the water lines

Discolored water may occur as a result of the flushing process and is typically temporary. If you notice discolored water, please run the cold water for a few minutes until it runs clear before using it.

⚠️ Please refrain from doing laundry between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM on these dates to help prevent the possibility of staining clothing.

You may also notice some sputtering or air when first turning on a faucet. This should clear up after allowing the water to run briefly.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as the Village performs this necessary water system maintenance.

⚠️ **Flooding Update – Village of Soldiers Grove** ⚠️

The Village is currently experiencing flooding in some areas. With additional rain expected this evening and throughout tomorrow, the Kickapoo River is forecasted to continue rising. Residents should remain alert and be prepared for changing conditions.

Please use caution if traveling, and **NEVER drive through flooded roadways**. Just a few inches of moving water can be enough to carry away a vehicle.

Village staff and the Soldiers Grove Volunteer Fire Department will continue to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates as they become available. If you encounter flooded roads or other hazardous conditions, please avoid the area and follow any posted closures or detours.

****FIREWORKS****

Just a reminder that the Village of Soldiers Grove requires residents to obtain a Fireworks Permit APPROVED BY THE VILLAGE, if you plan to light them off. Which means whatever permits and paperwork you might receive when purchasing fireworks is necessary, but does NOT give you the permission to light them off in the village limits, without a Village issued Fireworks Permit. If you plan on lighting off fireworks for any reason (graduations, 4th of July, camping, etc) we ask that you pick up an application for a fireworks permit at the Village Office. If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Village Clerk, Fire Chief, or Village President.

Please be aware that there is absolutely NO tolerance for Fireworks of ANY kind to be set off on any village owned properties!!

Please note, Per village ordinance, If there is any damages caused or violations committed within the fireworks operations, the responsible party could be subject to receiving citations as necessary.
