Your voice can help shape what comes next for Solomon. 🧡

The City of Solomon, in partnership with Driving Dickinson County, has launched a new community survey to hear directly from the people who live, work, invest and care about our community.

This survey is the first phase of a broader community input process. The feedback collected will help us better understand local priorities, opportunities and needs — and more opportunities to be part of the conversation will be coming soon.

We appreciate Driving Dickinson County’s partnership in helping our community gather meaningful input and use it to inform conversations about Solomon’s future.

⏱️ Takes about 10–15 minutes
🎁 Complete the survey for a chance to win a $100 Nosey Rosey's Bar & Grilla gift card

Bringing community back into community. ❤️

On Aug. 27, Solomon welcomed 27 participants representing 13 Kansas communities and 11 counties for a Kansas Sampler Foundation Do-Alogue — an opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another and explore how the people, places and resources we already have can create stronger community connections.

From making the most of our municipal pool to painted fire hydrants, partnerships, programming and simply being willing to ask, “How could we make this work?” — the day was a reminder that meaningful community-building doesn’t have to start with something big.

Sometimes, it starts with creating a reason to gather, making room for an idea or finding a new way to help people feel connected to the place they call home.

💬 As Mayor Brandy Gray shared, “The goal is not to make Solomon look like another town. It is to keep learning from others while making Solomon the very best version of itself with the people, resources and talents we have here.”

💦 We made a splash in Solomon today!

The City of Solomon was proud to host the Kansas Sampler Foundation Do-Alogue, welcoming community leaders from across Kansas to see, experience and talk about the creative ways we’re building community right here in Solomon.

We shared ideas, toured community spaces, learned from one another — and even spent some time poolside with our feet in the water. ☀️

Thank you to Kansas Sampler Foundation for bringing the conversation to Solomon; Natalie and Tavo Muruato for opening their home to our guests; Lucinda's Katering for lunch; and our City of Solomon team for coordinating the activities and demonstrations throughout the day.

We’re also grateful to Market Me PINK and Driving Dickinson County for helping tell Solomon’s story and support today’s event.

As Mayor Brandy Gray put it: “We’re just trying to bring community back into our community.” ❤️

More from today’s Do-Alogue coming soon!

🌻 Leaving her mark on Solomon.

Before 2026 Solomon High School graduate Caylee Cook heads to Fort Hays State University this fall, she left behind something pretty special for her hometown.

Caylee is the artist behind the new mural at Solomon City Park — transforming a once-blank wall into a scene filled with nature, color and plenty of details to discover. And that swing? It was designed for you to step right into the artwork. 📸

With support from the Solomon Community Fund, Caylee was given the opportunity — and the creative freedom — to make the mural her own.

Now, a piece of her creativity will remain in Solomon for years to come. 💛

🌳 Read Caylee’s story and see how the mural came to life:

Then stop by the park, find your favorite detail and take your turn on the swing!

☀️ Summer isn’t over quite yet, Solomon! 🏊

We’re extending the 2026 Solomon Municipal Pool season!

The pool will be open August 10–12 for a few last swims before school starts, PLUS we’ll be back for two more weekends — August 15–16 and August 22–23.

📅 Final day of the season: Sunday, August 23

That means there’s still time to grab the swimsuits and soak up a little more summer. 💦
