Last night, Council approved Mayoral and Council appointments to the Charter Review Committee. The Charter Review Committee meets every five years to review the City’s Charter and recommend any updates to Council. The committee will present its recommended changes to Council, where Council will determine whether to accept or deny them. Any accepted changes will then be placed on the November ballot for citywide voter approval.
I am very happy to announce Beth Teitler Kalinowski as the Ward 4 representative to the committee. Beth is a 20-year resident of Solon. After growing up in Buffalo and attending the University of Buffalo, she moved to Cleveland to attend Case Western Reserve University School of Law where she earned a Juris Doctorate. Beth worked briefly in advertising after graduating from Case Western and then for KeyBank in the Trusts and Estates department, followed by a position in Commercial Real Estate and in a Management training program. Beth and her husband, Jeff, moved to Solon in 2005. After their daughter, Sarah, was born she chose to stay home and dedicate her time to volunteering and raising her daughter. Beth held numerous board positions with the Solon schools, including recording secretary for both Parkside Elementary and Orchard Middle School and corresponding secretary for the Solon Council of PTAs. She also headed and worked on a number of committees for the Solon schools.
With her depth of knowledge, experience, and dedication, I know Beth will do an outstanding job on this very important committee. Thanks to Beth for serving!
