The Solon Organized Parent Education Network (O.P.E.N.) is partnering with the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities to offer a free virtual Lunch & Learn series for parents and caregivers.

The first session, “Reducing Barriers Through Advocacy: Tips for Parents and Caregivers,” will take place September 16 at noon via Google Meet.

Scan the QR code on the flyer or visit tinyurl.com/OCECDTips to register. A Google Meet link will be emailed to registrants the morning of the event.

Future dates:
- November 11: Positive Behavioral Interventions
- January 21: Medical Diagnosis vs. Educational Eligibility

Join Solon High School’s Music in Motion show choir on September 19 for Cabaret Night, an evening of instrumental music and vocal acts on the auditorium stage (33600 Inwood Rd.)

Student musicians will perform solo as well as in duets and larger ensembles. The evening is an opportunity to showcase the individual talents of show choir members.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. for an online silent auction benefitting the show choir. Tickets range from $21-$26 and include complimentary desserts and beverages.

There’s something for everyone at Solon Middle School!

Today’s Club Fair gave students a look at the many clubs, activities and sports available at SMS. Students explored a wide range of options, from Academic Challenge, Art Club and Math Counts to Badminton, choir, SETV, Ski & Snowboard Club, yearbook and more.

With 23 clubs and 15 athletic teams, there are plenty of opportunities to try something new, meet others and become part of the SMS community.

Families attending Curriculum Night can check out the club displays, too!

What a morning at the Polo Fields!

Solon Cross Country hosted Party at the Polos today. The race brought together many fantastic teams from across the area at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field in Moreland Hills.

We’re proud of our middle and high school runners for competing hard and turning in a strong showing. Their strength, determination and grit were on full display!

A huge thank you to our coaches, volunteers and families for their incredible support! Go Comets!

Reminder: The 19th Annual Solon Band Bash is tonight! Get ready for Halftime Rewind: Back to the 1990s at the Solon High School stadium. Gates will open at 6:15 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.

Band Bash is a great night of music, energy and community spirit. The Solon Comets Marching Band will host nine other bands from Madison, North Olmsted, Orange, Wickliffe, James A. Garfield, West Geauga, Beachwood, Aurora and Hudson, all performing their 2026 half-time shows for the upcoming fall football season.

Tickets are available through Solon Music Parents online on the SMP website at https://trst.in/r6lAQ2. Tickets are $8 presale and $10 beginning at 9 p.m. on August 27. Concessions will be available.

Foam. Food trucks. Friends. Orchard knows how to kick off a school year!

Students were covered in foam from head to toe at the Orchard PTA Welcome Back Party.
They had a blast making foam beards and hats, jumping into foam fights and sharing plenty of foam-covered hugs. Add in delicious food, games and laughter, and you’ve got one foam-tastic night!

A huge thank you to the Orchard PTA and all of the volunteers who made this bubbly back-to-school celebration possible!

Popular picks include the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, The Liars Society by Alyson Ge**er, and the ever-favorite Dog Man series by Dav Pilkey.

Special thanks to the Orchard PTA and volunteers for making this event possible and nurturing our students’ love of reading!
