NOPSS co-founders Kenny and Donna Rybka (right) were honored to accept a generous donation from the Solon Rotary last night during its Annual First Responders Night Awards Dinner.

Thank you to the Solon Rotary for your support of Northern Ohio Public Safety Support! Your contribution helps us provide critical rehabilitation and support services to public safety personnel throughout Northern Ohio.

The Solon Rotary proudly serves the communities of Beachwood, Orange Village, Pepper Pike, Solon, and Woodmere.

Congratulations to Detective Linda Castro-Tulevski of the Solon Police Department and Firefighter/Paramedic Zach Ryan of the Solon Fire Department who were honored last night for their dedication and service to the City of Solon.

We had another strong turnout for our second lunch meeting, held on August 28th at Rollhouse. We welcomed Rose Driessen as a new member, and had several guests attend as well. Our featured speaker was Jennifer Portschy, Founder and Executive Director of Building Bikes Sharing Love. Jennifer shared information with us about the amazing efforts her organization does to help kids in foster care get new bikes. It was truly an inspiring talk!

Our special guest at the August 13th breakfast meeting was Saevar Thordarson, the new President & CEO of the Solon Chamber of Commerce. Saevar shared some interesting insights on his experiences as a business owner in Solon, along with his plans for the Chamber, which include an interest in coordinating service projects with the Rotary.

Celebrating the amazing turnout we had Thursday, August 6th, at our Solon Rotary Club After Hours event. Attendees included current and prospective club members, local business leaders, community members, Solon Mobile Food Pantry volunteers, and even visiting grandchildren!

Current Co-President Angee Shaker welcomed us to our first After Hours event together following our merger with the Chagrin Highlands Rotary Club, and Immediate Past President Jim Hyde reminded us what a vital service the Solon Mobile Food Pantry provides to the surrounding communities.

What an amazing turnout for our first lunch meeting as the merged Solon Rotary Club, now serving the communities of Beachwood, Pepper Pike, Orange, Solon, & Woodmere!

Our speaker today was Kenny Rybka, a 21-year veteran of the Bedford Fire Department and President and Co-Founder of Northern Ohio Public Safety Support (NOPSS). He was an incredibly engaging speaker and told us all about how his nonprofit organization provides rehabilitation services to support our local first responders on the scene.

Friday morning, we had our first meeting as the merged Rotary Club of Solon, now serving the communities of Beachwood, Orange Village, Pepper Pike, Solon, and Village of Woodmere!

Our speaker today was Jessie Daley, Transition Coordinator for Solon City Schools, who oversees career, technical, and vocational training programs at Solon High School. They grew from 79 to 125 seniors from last year to this year, and we were excited to learn more about how we can continue to support Solon students.
