Solon Splash Pad Solon City Splash Pad The past ten years, the Solon Parks and Recreation Department has provided recreational activities for all people in the Solon Community.

Furthermore, the Solon Parks and Recreation department plans, develops, and maintain quietly parks along with meeting the need for community leisure and recreational opportunities. During the 2014 calendar year, Solon Parks and Recreation provided recreational programs to approximately 1,250 kids ages 4-12 from the surrounding Solon community. Most of the program offerings increased in participati

on each of the last four years as the Solon area continues to expand. A splash pad is a water play area with no standing water, typically featuring water nozzles spraying into the air. It was identified as the top response in a 2012 online survey that asked local residents to pick a possible capital park improvement.

New trees at the Splash Pad, and they are kid approved! Solon Public Works was busy today in this hot weather planting these beautiful trees funded by the , and . A total of nine trees were planted for a future wind break, replacing our tree canopy, and more shade around the pad.

Some big THANK YOU's go out to Solon Public Works Department for getting our city ready for summer. Also to Solon Area Community Foundation for contributing to the new seating and shade area at the Splash Pad, and to Solon Boys Scouts for helping install the new shade area! This week is National Public Works Week so as we look around our community with great pride, Solon Public Works truly deserves our thanks & appreciation!
