Beginning in September , fire department personnel will begin conducting fire hydrant testing. There are over 2000 fire hydrants in Solon, and it typically takes 4-6 weeks to complete, depending on weather and call volume. Signs will be displayed throughout the city to remind all residents.

Our city website will be updated daily to reflect which streets will be tested. Please use the attached link, which has further information and FAQ's.

UPDATE:
Solon Road is now open.

Update:
Solon Road remains closed between SOM Center Road and Bainbridge Road. Kruse Drive businesses can only be accessed from Bainbridge Road. If you need to access a Solon Road business in that area, you'll have to approach from the Bainbridge Road side. True North Shell gas station can only be reached from their SOM Center driveway..... in short, you can't get past Kruse Drive. The traffic signal pole decided to fall over this morning and was thankfully caught by some utility wires. It was precariously dangling over the traffic lanes. It is being taken out now, with power to the signal being cut until its rectified. No businesses are without power. We will update when clear. Thanks for the hustle from the work crews!
