Another day of good progress on the addition to the fire hall! Each work day brings the department closer to realizing a dream that’s been years in the making! Thankful for our department volunteers as well as Simon Kangas and Taylor Smith for their amazing work today!

EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course) training this evening for Solway Fire Department. This course is intended to increase safety for our firefighters and the general public by improving situational awareness, enhancing vehicle control and improving overall performance when responding to emergencies.
These trainings are necessary to ensure the safest response for all involved!
Thank you to Fire Instruction & Rescue Education for providing the training and to the Minnesota State Fire Marshal Office for providing the funding for trainings such as this!

Thank you to all who came out to support the Special Olympics MN - Bemidji and our Beltrami County Fire Departments today at the Beltrami County Fair! It was a great day of entertainment and friendly competition amongst our friends from Bemidji Fire Department and Red Lake Fire Department and special thanks to Shevlin Fire Dept. for bringing a couple of teams to round out our brackets after some late scratches. Congratulations to Red Lake Fire Department for taking home the trophy today! We will look forward to this event again next year - make plans to attend!

A little rain didn’t stop this crew from accomplishing a lot today - making progress on the addition to the fire hall to serve the community better! Thanks to Simon Kangas and Gordy Beighley in addition to our firefighters who showed up ready to work!

Looking forward to this event this Sunday! Come and join us at the Beltrami County Fairgrounds grandstand at 1pm! This is a free will donation entry, going to the Bemidji chapter of the Minnesota Special Olympics!

Super fun to tag team making this trophy with Seth and Sam from the Solway Fire Department!

Make sure to head to the Beltrami County Fair this Sunday at 1pm to watch Solway, Bemidji, Blackduck, Red Lake, and Alaska battle it out!

Solway Fire Department took home first place at the Alaska Volunteer Fire Department 40th Annual Open House Water Wars today!

Thank you to the Alaska Volunteer Fire Department for hosting the event and giving teams the “warm up” before the Beltrami County Water Wars coming up next month at the Beltrami County Fair!

Congratulations to Captain Steven Schussman and firefighter Cody Erickson - your first place team from Solway Fire Department!
