Last night at the Atlantic County Valor and 50-Year Service Awards, our own Robert Blumberg was honored for an incredible 50 years of dedicated service to the City of Somers Point.

Robert continues to actively serve his community with the same commitment and selflessness that has defined his career. We thank him for his unwavering dedication and congratulate him on this remarkable milestone.

Thank you to all that attended. Special thank you to Somers Point Police Department (Official),Marmora Volunteer Fire Co. and Seaville Fire Rescue for helping with traffic control and Scullville Volunteer Fire Co. for covering the town.

Please take this storm seriously! Power outages are a real possibility. Major flooding also is a real possibility. Charge phones and have flashlights ready with extra batteries. If you do lose power and have a generator, make sure to run your generator outside with proper ventilation away from the house. If you have a fire hydrant by your house and are comfortable with keeping it clear from the snow that would help us out greatly! However, this is going to be a heavy, wet snow! Don’t risk injury clearing snow. Stay home, be safe!

A major winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow, high winds, blizzard conditions and coastal flooding across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast today into Monday as a low-pressure system rapidly intensifies off the Mid-Atlantic coast. Nearly impossible travel and power outages are expected from the DelMarVa to southeastern New England.
