While baseball's biggest stars are gathering in Philadelphia for MLB All-Star Week, MedSTAR had a reason to make the trip too.

Yesterday, our crew landed atop the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, helping ensure a patient received the specialized care they needed.

We don't receive requests for transport to Philadelphia often, but when we do, every mile is about giving patients access to the right care at the right time.

The city may be celebrating baseball's All-Stars, but we're proud of the all-star crew wearing flight suits every day. ⚾️

Clinicians from the Conemaugh MedSTAR team and nurses from the ICU at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center recently came together for intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) refresher training. Opportunities like this highlight the strength of collaboration between our flight crews and hospital critical care staff—ensuring seamless, high-level care for our most complex patients.

Our MedSTAR critical care team remains committed to delivering top-notch cardiac care, including the safe transport and management of advanced devices such as IABP, Impella, and other LVAD systems. Continuous training and teamwork are what allow us to bring ICU-level care to the patient’s side—wherever they are.
