A couple weeks ago, the Somerset Veterans Advisory Board hosted a raffle and cookout. Two tickets to a Redsox game were raffled off. WWII veteran Leo Desrosiers came and pulled the winning ticket! The winner was Somerset resident Jeff Marques, who donated those tickets to the Somerset Wreathes Across America golf tournament! We appreciate all of our veterans and residents for their participation!

FREE RIFC TICKETS FOR VETERANS & THEIR FAMILIES!

Rhode Island FC takes on Monterey Bay FC Saturday, Aug. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Centreville Bank Stadium — and donated tickets are available to Veterans and their families FREE while supplies last!

It’s also Folklore Night, followed by post-match fireworks.

What a wonderful day! Great weather, beautiful cars, and an amazing community coming together to help veterans. We are thankful for Horner Millwork and it's organizing this great event. Last years car show helped move a WWII veteran, help with some emergency car repairs, heating bills, help a few residents with rent payments, and help fund our Veterans Appreciation Breakfast! So many thanks to give and not enough outlets to do it.

Our office is busy this weekend. Come down to the Horner Millwork Car Show on Saturday 8/15 from 9am-1pm. On Sunday 8/16 swing by the Somerset Veterans Advisory Board Cookout from 12pm-3pm at the VFW post 8500. See you there!!

It wouldn’t have been possible without his daughters, Swansea Veterans Services American Legion Post #303 Swansea, MA and State Representative Justin Thurber. Thank you to all of you!
