Elevated Fire Weather Conditions Today...

Low humidity, sunny to mostly sunny skies, unseasonably warm temperatures, very dry fuels, and breezy conditions will combine to result in Elevated Fire Danger this afternoon into early evening. Humidities will slowly recover and winds will diminish this evening. Burning is not recommended as wildfire behavior could become erratic.

Remember that Kentucky regulations make it illegal to burn between the hours of 6 AM and 6 PM within 150 feet of a woodland or brushland during the Spring Forest Fire Season that runs until April 30th

🚩🚩🚩...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER THROUGH THIS EVENING...HIGH FIRE DANGER ON SUNDAY...

Low to very low humidities and very dry fuels will combine to result in Elevated Fire Danger through this evening. Humidities will recover an hour or two after sunset, alleviating the threat tonight.

However, low humidities and dry fuels are also expected on Sunday, and frequent wind gusts into the 15 to 25 mph range between 10 AM and around sunset will result in High Fire Danger.🚩🚩🚩

Good afternoon, Pulaski County,

As promised, we are rolling out a new Emergency Notification system, powered by RAVE Technologies, a Motorola Company. All you will need to do is click on the link provided and it will take you to a new page where you will fill out the information requested. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Once you have completed this, you will start receiving weather alerts from the U.S. National Weather Service out of Jackson, Kentucky and local alerts that may be put out for non-weather emergencies like Golden Alerts, road closures, train derailments, etc… by Pulaski County Emergency Management or Pulaski County 9-1-1.

There is NO phone app required to receive the alerts. Once you register, within an hour, you will be in the RAVE system and get critical information and updates. We recommend you use a strong password when setting up RAVE’s Smart911.

If you have CodeRED on your phone, you can go ahead and delete it. Pulaski County is no longer affiliated with that service.

Stay safe out there.
