More than a renovation. It’s an investment in the future. 👩‍🏭

While our halls were quiet this summer, something BIG was taking shape inside the Somerset High School CTE Building.

Today, we’re proud to unveil a project that elevates the Standard of Excellence at Somerset ISD — the newly renovated Welding Lab, built to provide our students with hands-on experience, modern equipment, and industry-ready skills while meeting the needs of a growing workforce in our region.

This is more than a new space.

It’s the future being forged right here at Somerset ISD. 💙

The Cast Has Been Revealed!

The Pride Lands are coming to life at Somerset ISD! 🌅✨

We are thrilled to officially announce the cast of Disney’s The Lion King JR.! From Rafiki, Simba, Nala, Timon and Pumbaa to our incredible lionesses, animals of the savannah, dancers, choir members and elementary ensembles — this production is bringing together an AMAZING group of talented students from across Somerset ISD! 🎭🦁

Congratulations to every student who auditioned and earned a place in this production! We can’t wait to see your hard work, creativity and talent take the stage.

The line stretched down the road and continued to grow by the minute as members of our Somerset community came together to support Somerset FFA at this past weekend’s plate sale. 🍗

Every plate purchased, every conversation shared, and every person who showed up was a reminder of what makes Somerset so special.

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported our FFA members, and helped make this event such a success. Your generosity means more than you know, and it’s moments like these that remind us just how strong the heart of Bulldog Nation truly is. 💙🐾

A Personal Thank You✉️

"Our hearts are heavy as we stand with our Somerset FFA families who recently suffered the devastating loss of their show animals. While nothing can erase the disappointment and heartache our students and families are experiencing, we have been deeply moved by the overwhelming response from Somerset and our neighboring communities. The generosity, compassion, and willingness of so many people to step forward in support of our students is a powerful reminder of what makes Somerset such a special place.

Over the past several days, we have witnessed neighbors helping neighbors, local organizations offering assistance, businesses and agricultural partners donating resources, and countless individuals reaching out with words of encouragement and acts of kindness. This extraordinary outpouring of support has been inspiring and a testament to our community's strength, compassion, and heart.
On behalf of the Somerset ISD Board of Trustees and myself, I want to express our sincere gratitude to every individual who has extended a helping hand. Through this difficult experience, our students have demonstrated resilience and our community has once again proven that when one Bulldog family hurts, we all come together.

We remain committed to standing alongside our FFA students and families as they recover, rebuild, and continue pursuing the dreams and opportunities they have worked so hard to achieve."

Somerset ISD students are invited to step into the spotlight and audition for Disney’s The Lion King JR. musical!

🎭 Auditions: Wednesday, Aug. 26
⏰ Time: 4:15 p.m.
📍 Location: Black Box Theater

Whether you’re ready to roar, sing, dance or bring an unforgettable character to life, this is your chance to become part of the pride! We can’t wait to see you at auditions!

Note* Auditions at the Black Box Theater are open to 5th through 12th grade students. Elementary level student-parents should contact their student's campus music teacher for on campus audtions.
