This past week has kept the members at Millstone Valley busy, here’s a rundown on some of the serious Incidents.

On 6/15 Franklin D1 was dispatched to an address on Easton Ave for a fire alarm, it was quickly retoned for a smoke condition and a small fire was located inside, fortunately first arriving companies and Franklin Township Fire Inspectors made a quick stop and there was no extension. Squad and Air 28 were on the road but subsequently cancelled.

On 6/14 just before Midnight Station 28 was Dispatched into Franklin District 3 for the 4th alarm structure fire. Squad 28 with a crew of 4 arrived and assisted with fire suppression by pulling a 2.5 inch line off of Engine 25-1 Community Volunteer Fire Co. #1 and setting up a master stream. While Squads crew and Chief 28 operated the master stream, Squad 28 was assigned to tie into the hydrant across from the address and relay pump Tower 26 Elizabeth Avenue VFC. During the fire our drones were requested to the scene. Utility and Air 28 responded and a drone was utilized to see where fire and hot spots remained. Chief 28 was eventually in charge of Aerial/Drone Operations. All MLVFD units cleared from D3 at 7:00am.

On 6/13 at 8:24pm Franklin D1 was dispatched to an address on Willow ave for a reported structure fire. Chief 56 Somerset Fire and Rescue arrived and found an attached garage fully engulfed. A first alarm was called. Due to the quick actions of first arriving companies the fire was held to the garage. Squad and Air 28 arrived and assisted with pulling ceilings and checking for further extension. Thank you to our mutual aid companies for assistance on scene or covering the district.

On 6/9 just after 3:30 pm Station 28 was dispatched to an address off of Ta**us Dr in Hillsborough Township for a 2nd alarm structure fire. Squad 28 responded with 5 and after arriving set up as the Rapid Intervention Team. Squads crew stood by for 45 minutes without incident before being released. A quick knock kept this fire to only the involved units.

The members from Millstone Valley are keeping those affected by these recent fires in their thoughts during this extremely difficult time.

With the upcoming snowstorm packing more snow and ice on top of what we currently have, it’s extremely important that you do your part. If you have a hydrant in front of your house or nearby, Please Clear It! Help us help you! Fire can spread rapidly, in those moments it’s crucial for Firefighters to be focused on putting out the fire, not clearing ice and snow in front of a hydrant. Please help us spread the word! Be safe and stay warm!
