Renovation work continues at Somerset County Library. The library has remained open while renovations continue.

Here's a little glimpse of the work in progress on the child-size portal into the new children's library and play area. Thanks to Grant of Mid-State Construction for allowing us to snap a photo! This Project was financed by a grant from the federal Department of the Treasury, under the administration of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority.

The new children's library and play area will improve access to early educational opportunities for children, especially those from birth through kindergarten.

Check out these free items available Somerset County Library as the library prepares for contractors to begin renovation work. Must claim in person and haul immediately. Ask library staff to show you what's still available. The library is open 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday.

Somerset County Library activities are taking place at the Somerset County Technology Center - SCTC this summer due to renovation activities at the library.

We are thrilled to announce the bookmobile is back on the road! After a long absence, our new manager, Susan has the bookmobile cleaned up and stocked with fresh reads for you. Check our website SCFLS.org to find location near you. Come out and give Susan and Paul a welcome to the team.

Somerset County Library is undergoing another phase of renovations. Most of their summer programs will take place at the Somerset County Technology Center - SCTC

📌 Renovation Activities Have Started! 📌
Renovation preparations are officially underway! Packing, storage, and/or relocation of collections and furniture from Room 26 and the Library has begun.
🗓 Beginning May 6 and continuing through August, contractors will be working in the Library and Room 26. In early May, you may notice temporary walls and protective barriers being installed inside the library to support the work.
📚 Library Access During Renovations
We plan to keep the library open in some capacity throughout the project. Please note:

Seating and table availability will be limited
Some services and access to collections may be temporarily affected

For everyone’s safety, please stay clear of all work in progress and do not enter construction areas for any reason.

The Somerset County Library was awarded a $1,066,990 Capital Projects Fund Multi-Purpose Community Facilities grant from the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority to create a multifunctional space equipped with state-of-the-art digital technology and amenities to support increased access to educational, workforce development, and healthcare monitoring opportunities.
