The River and Wind Challenge

The River and Wind Challenge Service Center of The Salvation Army's Western PA's Division, located in Somerset, PA. Provides assistance to those suffering from financial hardship.

The Salvation Army's River and Wind Challenge is a bike ride on the Great Allegheny passage. The GAP is one of America's best bike trails, where you will discover a nearly level trail along winding rivers, shaded valleys, traditional small towns, bridges, and windmills. Riders can choose between a 62 or 22 mile ride. The 62 mile ride is a round trip from Confluence to Meyersdale. This ride will te

st your endurance and your will power. The 22 mile ride is a round trip from Confluence to Ohiopyle. All participants will be provided meals, fresh fruits, sancks, and refreshments along the route. We also offer a great t-shirt and an award for those that finish the ride. The purpose of this ride is to raise funds for The Salvation Army-Somerset Service Center.
