In observance of National Police Week, members of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office and the Somerset Police Department gathered together to honor the memory and sacrifice of fallen law enforcement officers from Pulaski County during a memorial wreath laying ceremony. The ceremony served as a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and service displayed by the law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty while protecting the citizens of Pulaski County.

Sheriff Bobby Jones stated that Police Week is not only a time to recognize the sacrifices made by fallen officers, but also an opportunity to support the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward. “Today we pause to remember the heroes from our own communities who answered the call without hesitation and paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to others,” said Sheriff Jones. “Their dedication and bravery will never be forgotten, and it is our duty to ensure their legacy lives on.”

Deputies, police officers, and community members attended the ceremony as wreaths were placed in remembrance of the fallen. Moments of silence and reflection were observed in honor of all officers who have died in the line of duty. National Police Week is observed each May to recognize law enforcement officers across the United States who have made the ultimate sacrifice and to honor those who continue to serve with courage and commitment.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office extends its gratitude to all law enforcement officers and their families for their continued service and sacrifice.
