Somerset Area Ambulance Association is proud to announce that construction is officially underway on its newest ambulance station in Jenner Township, with completion anticipated by the end of 2026.
The new station will serve as Somerset Area Ambulance's newest regional deployment point, improving emergency medical response for thousands of residents in Jenner Township, Boswell Borough, and surrounding communities. The project represents the culmination of four years of planning and partnership between Somerset Area Ambulance and the Jenner Township Board of Supervisors following the closure of the Boswell Volunteer Fire Department's ambulance division in 2022.
Strategically located to serve the greater Boswell region, the station will enhance emergency medical coverage throughout the western section of Somerset County while strengthening the organization's ability to deploy resources where they are needed most. The investment reflects Somerset Area Ambulance's ongoing commitment to providing high-quality emergency medical services across rural Somerset County.
"When ambulance service was lost in our community in 2022, we knew doing nothing was not an option," said the Jenner Township Board of Supervisors. "Over the last four years, we have worked closely with Somerset Area Ambulance to develop a long-term solution rather than a temporary fix. Today marks an important milestone in ensuring our residents continue to receive dependable emergency medical care for years to come."

Construction is expected to continue throughout the remainder of the year, with the station projected to become operational by the end of 2026. Once complete, it will expand emergency coverage throughout the greater Boswell region while providing greater flexibility to deploy ambulances across Somerset County during periods of increased demand.
