42nd Infantry Division Support Command Organized 22 February 1917 in the New Jersey National Guard at Newark, New Jersey as the Supply Company, 1st Infantry. Reorganized and redesignated 11 October 1917 as the Supply Company, 113th Infantry an element of the 29th Infantry Division. Demobilized 27 May 1919 at Camp Dix, New Jersey. Reorganized and Federally Recognized 20 June 1919 in the New Jersey

National Guard at Newark as the Supply Company, 6th Infantry. Reorganized and redesignated 1 March 1921 as the Service Company, 6th Infantry. Redesignated 17 June 1921 as Service Company, 113th Infantry, an element of the 44th Division. Inducted into Federal service 16 September 1940 at Newark (113th Infantry relieved 20 February 1942 from assignment to the 44th Division). Inactivated 25 September 1945 at Camp Rucker, Alabama. Converted and Redesignated 1 August 1946 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 50th Armored Division Trains. Reorganized and Federally Recognized 29 October 1946 at Newark. Reorganized and Redesignated 1 April 1959 as Headquarters and Headquarters, Detachment, 50th Armored Division Trains; location concurrently changed to Elizabeth. Consolidated 31 January 1963 with the 50th Armored Division Band (organized in 1920) and consolidated unit reorganized and redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters and Band 50th Armored Division Support Command. Reorganized and Designated 1 March 1964 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company and Band, 50th Armored Division Support Command. Reorganized and Designated 1 December 1971as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 50th Armored Division Support Command (50th Armored Division Band concurrently withdrawn-hereafter separate lineage)
Location changed 1 September 1980 to East Orange. Reorganized and Redesignated 1 September 1993 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 42nd Infantry Division Support Command.

More sad info from the Jersey side. Mike Hafke has lost his 20 year battle with cancer. What a fight he put up. If you remember, Mike was part of a “MINSTI (sp) team. I spoke to Mike in November and he was struggling. We’ve lost a lot of people. No info yet but he was in Arizona for treatment. Regardless of what state you were from, please advise me of soldiers that have passed so I can put it out. The Rainbow covered the entire country
