Founded in 1976 as Tin Can Sailors, The National Association of Destroyer Veterans serves our 13,000 members nationwide with a quarterly magazine, a National Reunion, and several regional events. Through the Thomas J. Peltin Destroyer Museum Grant Program we have provided more than $2 Million in grants to the museum destroyers in the U.S. We accept all as members but the primary focus is on those

who served in all forms of destroyers, destroyer escorts, frigates, destroyer minelayers and minesweepers, destroyer tenders and repair ships, and now littoral combat ships.

Attendees gave generously to our Live Auction. Donations ranged from w**e and spirits party baskets to apparel to a hand made afghan from master artisan Janice Bonneau. U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Mustin (DDG 89) steams in the Indian Ocean, Aug. 15, 2026. Mustin is forward-deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force. U.S. 7th Fleet, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
