🍎✏️ Back-to-School Season is Here! 📚💙

For many families, this is the last week before the school bells ring again. While a new school year brings excitement, it can also bring a mix of emotions nervousness, stress, uncertainty, and big changes for both kids and parents.

As you prepare backpacks, lunches, and school supplies, don’t forget to prepare for emotional well-being, too.

💙 Check in with your child about how they’re feeling.
💙 Keep routines as consistent as possible.
💙 Make time to listen without judgment.
💙 Remember that it’s okay if the transition takes a little time.

And parents… be kind to yourselves, too. Back-to-school can be just as overwhelming for you as it is for your children.

✨ Today’s Reminder:
“Today I’ll practice self-compassion instead of self-criticism.” 💙

How often are we kind to everyone around us, yet our own inner voice is filled with criticism?

Self-compassion doesn’t mean ignoring our mistakes or pretending everything is perfect. It means recognizing that we’re human, giving ourselves grace, and speaking to ourselves with the same kindness we’d offer a friend.

Today, challenge yourself to notice your inner dialogue. When self-criticism shows up, pause and ask yourself:
💭 “What would I say to someone I love if they were in this situation?”

Then offer those same words to yourself.

Healing begins when we replace judgment with understanding—one thought, one moment, and one day at a time.

Looking for the best place to celebrate Independence Day this year? We've put together a list of fireworks shows and Fourth of July celebrations happening throughout Pulaski County.

From community festivals and church celebrations to lakefront displays, live music, family activities, food vendors, and professional fireworks shows, there are more opportunities than ever to celebrate America's birthday right here in our community.

With so many great events taking place over the next few weeks, we encourage everyone to help us spread the word by sharing this post with your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and anyone who may be looking for a fireworks show to attend.

This weekend has been especially meaningful as we also recognized Juneteenth a time to honor freedom, resilience, culture, and the strength of our communities. Together, these observances remind us of the importance of connection, support, and the impact we have on one another.

Today, we celebrate the fathers and father figures who show up for their families, friends, and communities in countless ways. Whether through guidance, encouragement, protection, or simply being present, your influence helps build stronger, healthier communities for future generations.

June is PTSD Awareness Month 💚

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) affects millions of people, including veterans, first responders, survivors of trauma, and many others whose experiences may not always be visible to those around them.

This month, we recognize the strength it takes to heal, the courage it takes to ask for help, and the importance of creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and understood.

As we head into the weekend, we encourage everyone to check in with themselves and their loved ones. Take time to rest, recharge, and practice self-care in whatever way feels meaningful to you. Remember that healing isn’t linear, and every small step forward matters.
