End 68 Hours of Hunger Barrington NH

End 68 Hours of Hunger Barrington NH Providing meals to Barrington, NH school children every weekend who would otherwise go without. $10.00 feeds a child. Please consider donating today.

End 68 Hours of Hunger is a private non-profit effort to confront the hunger some school children experience between the free lunch they receive at school on Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive at school on Monday morning. This program was established in NH in 2011 and has been running in Barrington since inception. The number of children served in our community changes regularly,

but we serve an average of 33 children. We are entirely volunteer based and 100% of funds go directly to feeding at risk children, unless otherwise designated by the donor. We can always use food, money or volunteer time! Please reach out today to see how you can help! We try to stay consistent with the food that we deliver. We have a list of these foods in our notes section. Please feel free to donate any of these items at any time throughout the year. You can drop them off at the Barrington Middle School office. Thank you for your support!

As kids head back to the classroom, our End 68 Hours of Hunger volunteers are getting ready too! Week after week, our volunteers pack bags filled with food to help children through the 68 hours between Friday’s school lunch and Monday morning’s breakfast.

New backpacks.
New teachers.
New adventures.
And one thing that shouldn’t be new: worrying about having enough food for the weekend. Here’s to a wonderful school year—and to the incredible volunteers and communities working together to make weekends hunger-free! ❤️

🚨 1 in 6 New Hampshire children is experiencing food insecurity.

A new Feeding America Map the Meal Gap report reveals a troubling increase in hunger across our state. Child food insecurity has risen 6% in just one year, from 36,160 children to 38,430.

Overall, 1 in 9 Granite Staters now face food insecurity—up from 10.7% to 11.2%.

Seven of New Hampshire’s 10 counties saw measurable increases in food insecurity, with children among those most impacted.

These numbers represent real children, families and neighbors who are struggling to put enough food on the table.

At the New Hampshire Food Bank, we’re responding by expanding fresh food rescue, increasing deliveries to remote communities, providing more fresh produce and protein through Mobile Food Pantries, and strengthening the network of more than 400 partner agencies working across our state.

But we cannot do this alone. Together, we can make sure every child in New Hampshire has access to the nutritious food they need to learn, grow and thrive.

The latest USDA data shows that 18.4% of U.S. households with children experienced food insecurity in 2024. That means nearly 1 in 5 households with children struggled to consistently access enough food. Among those households: 8.2% experienced low food security among children.

These aren't just numbers. They represent children in our schools, neighborhoods, and communities who may not know where their next meal is coming from. As our founder, Claire Bloom, says: "This is a problem we can fix!"

As we celebrate our nation's independence, we are reminded of the importance of community, generosity, and looking out for one another.

While many families will be gathering for cookouts, fireworks, and celebrations, thousands of children in our communities continue to rely on the support of End 68 Hours of Hunger to help bridge the gap between school meals.

This Independence Day, we are especially grateful for our volunteers, donors, coordinators, schools, and community partners who work together to ensure children have food for the weekend. Your support helps bring hope and nourishment to children all year long. Wishing everyone a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙

🎉 Another School Year in the Books! 🎉
As the school year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on what our incredible End 68 Hours of Hunger community accomplished together.

Because of the dedication of our volunteers, coordinators, donors, schools, and community partners, we provided nearly 27,000 hunger-free weekends for children facing food insecurity this school year. That translates to an astounding 1,861,552 meals delivered to children who might otherwise have gone without food between Friday lunch and Monday breakfast.

These numbers represent more than meals—they represent children who were better able to learn, grow, and thrive because their basic needs were met. Thank you to everyone who packed bags, donated food, made financial contributions, organized food drives, delivered supplies, and supported our mission. You are making a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of children and families.
