Last night I had the honor of being presented with the Somerset County Democratic Committee “Demmy”award for Outstanding Volunteerism in recognition of exceptional contribution of time and energy to various efforts of the Somerset County Democratic Committee.

I want to say thank you to my wife, Jennifer Orozco, for putting up with, and supporting all my efforts. Even with a fractured ankle she came out in support last night and covered for me at the awards dinner because I was late due to a prior commitment.

Meet SCDC Hispanic Caucus recording secretary Ida Ochoteco. Ida is a vibrant community organizer and Confidential Aide to Steve Peter, the Somerset County Clerk. Ida is an artist and her piece “Black Sarambí” is being displayed at the Newark Museum of Art for the 2023 Newark Art Festival for the Cross Cultural Perspectives and 50 Years of Hip-Hop exhibit.
