🎉 What a year 2025 has been! From celebrating our 25th birthday at Harvest Fest, to opening our multicultural community garden, to sending our youth to Yellowstone, it's been a bountiful year of exciting growth 🌱 And we couldn't have done it without your support! Whether you've participated in an event, shown up to volunteer, donated, or even just stopped by to say hi on the farm, it is you, our community, that makes this work possible 💚

🌻Today, we’re grateful for the Mobility Division of the City of Somerville! Since 2023, the Green Team has played a huge role in improving Somerville street redesigns through our ongoing partnership. The Mobility Division is responsible for improving the accessibility and safety of Somerville roads. 🛣️

🌱This past spring, the Mobility Division presented the Pearl Street redesign proposal to the Green Team. The new design strongly incorporated the Green Team’s feedback from 2024! The Green Team offered further feedback, which included incorporating native plants and placing more trash cans along the street. They also suggested adding bike lanes where there weren’t any previously and expanding bus stop infrastructure to provide shade and improve accessibility. 🌳🚏

☀️This summer, we collaborated on the new redesign of Broadway near Trum Field. The Mobility Division held 4 workshops with the Green Team, leading them through walk audits and exploring new sidewalk innovations. The Green Team used this information to develop street redesign proposals for Broadway, which they presented to the City Engineering and Planning staff, including the Director of Mobility. 🚶

✨We’re so proud of the Green Team’s involvement in street redesigns and are grateful to the Mobility Division for investing time and energy in collecting and incorporating feedback from Somerville’s young people! ✨
