A shout out to Akshara Arvind on achieving her GOLD AWARD with the Girl Scouts. Akshara's project was teaching and promoting (on social media) the value of Hands-Only CPR. This life-saving form of resuscitation is indicated for anyone who does not desire to take a full CPR course. Congratulations Akshara!

The Somerville Rescue Squad is grateful for the outstanding fundraising effort from our local band, Squad 5. Every year this group holds a special fundraising event to benefit our EMS and Rescue operations. This year $1,100 was raised! Thank you Squad 5 for your continued support!

Just another reminder of the fundraiser that the local band Squad 5 is sponsoring to benefit the Somerville Rescue Squad. The drawing will take place tomorrow at 10pm at Mannion's Pub in Somerville. Many of you probably know Scott A Skrivanek. He is a retired paramedic, an emergency manager and an EMT instructor of the highest caliber. To us, he is a friend and colleague but did you know he is a food blogger keeping many of us on our heals with his wonderful blog, Adopted by Pasta. Today, we pay homage to Scott, his family (daughter Gabby is a budding EMT student following in part in her father footsteps) and the wonderful way food brings us all together. Local band Squad 5 is holding a fundraising event to benefit the Somerville Rescue Squad.

On Saturday June 13th they will be raffling off an official Squad 5 guitar during their show at Mannion's Irish Pub. The raffle tickets are $10 for one, or $20 for three. To purchase tickets venmo Johnathan Schwarz | -Schwarz or attend the show on June 13th and purchase raffle tickets during the event. The drawing the will take place after the first set...probably around 10pm. There are some other giveaways as well.
