🎉Congratulations to October Artist of the month, Maggie Cedarstrom. To find more in a full interview as told to Kerrie Kemperman, visit https://somervilleartscouncil.org/aotm/2026/maggie-cedarstrom/

Maggie received her BFA in 2007 from the University of New Hampshire. After moving to Boston in 2008, she took a job at a donut shop and began bartending at a much beloved Cambridge pub. In 2013, she returned to UNH to complete her MFA. As a member of Washington Street Arts Collective in Somerville for nearly a decade, she enjoys engaging and showcasing her work at local food and beverage businesses.

Maggie’s work is deeply personal, and based in the human form, particularly in spaces where the organic and constructed environment overlaps. Focal points are within the lived experience of the body and its labors, internally and inter-personally.

Have a PorchFest hot take?

The City of Somerville is conducting a survey to better understand public opinion and sentiment around PorchFest and to identify what's working well and what could be improved. Whether you've played on a porch, opened your yard to a crowd, walked the route, or simply live nearby, your perspective matters. This survey should take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
