The Rotary Club of Branchburg, Somerset County’s one of the most active service club, was given special recognition
Branchburg Rotary club was officially chartered in 1988, and since that time its members have contributed a great deal to Branchburg community, their home state of New Jersey and international communities around the world.
In his proclamation, Mayor Schworn recognized Branchburg Rotary’s 30 years of service and how the club has helped the Branchburg Township.
“We are so fortunate to have a Rotary Club that is active and engaged in our community,” Mayor James Schworn, said in a news release from the Rotary Club. “As they celebrate their 30th anniversary, it’s really a celebration of the dedicated men and women who roll up their sleeves and serve not only our community but people and places around the world.”
The Branchburg Rotary Club participates in a variety of events, projects and fundraisers, including the All Abilities Park near township building, Play ground project at the White Oak Park, Somerville High School Interact Club, RVCC Rotaract club, Student of the Month program at the Central School, Youth Leadership Program, North Branch library cleaning project, Enabling garden at RVC College, Holiday Happiness to help local non-profit during the holiday season, Used bike collection, $100,000 Micro credit project in Nepal, School projects in Ecuador, annual bingo to raise funds for community project and Comedy Night to support Rotary’s annual $12,000 scholarships and more.
