The Somonauk Fire Department station is accepting Toys for Tots donations. Donations of new, still-in-package toys are greatly appreciated.

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a $7000 grant by DeKalb County Community Foundation. This grant will go towards the purchase of new fire hose to replace outdated hose. Funding also is provided by the Somonauk Fire Fighters Association and the Somonauk Fire District.

We are always accepting donations if you would like to assist the fire department in obtaining new equipment for our fire and ambulance service.

We are delighted to announce that Compeer Financial has awarded us a $4000 grant. The funds will be used to procure water rescue sonar equipment for our boats. We would like to thank everyone who came out to the trunk or treat event in Lake Holiday today. It was a blast getting to show everyone what we do here at Somonauk. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween.
