Behind the doors of the Mother Lode Regional Juvenile Detention Facility, a dedicated team of Correctional Officers is making a difference every single day.

Their work is not always visible, but it is incredibly important. Every shift, they create a safe, structured environment while also building connections with youth who are at a critical point in their lives. Through consistency, respect, and accountability, they help young people reset, refocus, and move in a better direction.

This job calls for more than just maintaining order. It takes patience, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. Our officers step into that role every day, providing both guidance and stability when it matters most.

We appreciate the effort, professionalism, and care they bring to the facility and the community as a whole.

Thank you for the difference you make every day. 🙂✨

Today, the Tuolumne County Probation Department joins communities across the country in recognizing Denim Day as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Denim Day began as a response to a court ruling that sparked global outrage and has since become a powerful symbol of solidarity with survivors. Wearing denim is a simple way to take a stand against harmful myths and to support those impacted by sexual assault.

Our staff wore denim today to show support, promote awareness, and reaffirm our commitment to a community where respect, accountability, and safety are upheld for all 👖💙

✨This week we celebrated Administrative Professionals Day!✨

We would like to take a moment to recognize a very special group of individuals who are truly the backbone of our department.

To our Administrative Professionals (you know who you are) THANK YOU.

You are the steady force behind the scenes, the problem solvers, the organizers, and the calm in the chaos. You keep operations moving forward, often without recognition, and always with a level of dedication that does not go unnoticed.

Your work is demanding. It requires precision, patience, and flexibility. And while the pace is constant and the workload heavy, you continue to show up, support one another, and support this department in ways that are critical to our success!

Quite simply, we could not do this work without you. You are the glue that holds everything together, and we recognize not just what you do, but the value you bring to this organization every single day.

Thank you for your commitment, your professionalism, and your support.

We appreciate you more than you know!

🇺🇸 Wreaths Across America Honoring Our Fallen Veterans 🇺🇸

The Tuolumne County Probation Department was honored to participate in escorting the wreaths for fallen Veterans in recognition of National Wreaths Across America Day. Standing alongside our community to ensure these wreaths were escorted with dignity and respect was a meaningful reminder of the sacrifices made in service to our nation.

We invite the community to join us for a local Wreaths Across America ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on December 13th at Carter’s Cemetery in Tuolumne, as we come together to honor and remember those who served.

Thank you to all who make this powerful tribute possible. We are proud to take part in honoring those who gave their lives, supporting those who continue to serve, and helping preserve the legacy of freedom for future generations.

“Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation the value of freedom.”

GEO Transition Ceremony 🤝✨

Several individuals and partners were recognized for their dedication and commitment to rehabilitation and community safety.

GEO’s Program Manager Heather Smith presented multiple Commitment Awards, including one to The Honorable Judge Laura Krieg, honored for her leadership and partnership with community agencies in overseeing the Collaborative Courts, including the County’s new Prop. 36 treatment program.

Chief Probation Officer Dan Hawks and Public Safety Administrative Manager Shanna Relei were recognized for their ongoing collaboration and support of GEO in providing local rehabilitative programming targeting recidivism.

Deputy Probation Officer Anthony Cruz was also awarded for his exceptional collaboration, communication, and the significant number of referrals he provides to support client success.

We also celebrated a number of graduates, and heard moving speeches from former program participants who have successfully transitioned into productive, thriving members of our community. Their stories remind us why this work matters.

We’re proud to celebrate the commitment, teamwork, and resilience that strengthen our community and support positive change.

This week, the Tuolumne County Probation Department welcomed Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil for a ride-along with our High-Risk Supervision Team. This team plays a vital role in public safety by conducting field compliance checks, connecting individuals with services, and supporting positive change while ensuring accountability.

Throughout the visit, Senator Alvarado-Gil was able to see the professionalism, dedication, and teamwork our officers bring to every interaction. Our staff routinely navigate complex situations with calm, compassion, and skill often working behind the scenes to help individuals stabilize, rebuild, and move toward healthier paths.

Much of probation’s work happens quietly, but it plays a key role in helping individuals rebuild their lives and move forward. We appreciated the opportunity to highlight the meaningful work our staff perform every day to support rehabilitation and foster real, lasting change.
