Tuolumne County Invites Community to Design New Official County Seal and Logo
SONORA, Calif. — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors is inviting artists, designers, and community members to help shape the County's future by participating in a Community Design Competition to create a new official County seal and logo.
The selected designs will become Tuolumne County's permanent visual identity, representing the County's history, heritage, values, natural beauty, and future for generations to come.
The recent 175th Anniversary celebration of the County and the Nation's 250th Anniversary milestones inspired the Board to create a new official seal and logo that better reflect today's Tuolumne County while honoring its rich history and heritage. Through this competition, the Board is seeking a new official seal and logo that celebrate the unique character of Tuolumne County and create a cohesive visual identity for the future.
Participants are asked to submit concepts for both an official County seal and a County logo that share a common visual identity. Designs should be meaningful, timeless, and easily recognizable, while reflecting Tuolumne County's geography, industry, people, and spirit.
Entries must be received either electronically or delivered by Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. A steering committee of community members will review submissions and recommend finalists to the Board of Supervisors, who will make the final selection at the end of September.
