Yesterday we celebrated a special member of the Creekside family! After 26 years, Mrs. Rosie cleaned up her very last mess. She has always taken such pride in keeping Creekside looking beautiful! May your retirement be filled with plenty of time to relax, enjoy, and do all the things you love! Congratulations! 💙

Each month, we take a moment to celebrate students who exemplify our Portrait of a Learner focus area. During August, our school reviewed and practiced what it means to be a Responsible Citizen. Teachers nominated these standout students for actively participating in our learning community and consistently showing kindness to everyone. Congratulations to this month’s Bestside Bruins for setting such a wonderful example! 🐾

🎉 Our first Club Day was a success! 🎉
Each month, Creekside celebrates students’ positive behavior by giving them the opportunity to choose a club they’re excited about! We are lucky to have many amazing clubs and staff who make these experiences possible.

Mrs. Davenport’s second-grade class wrapped up their unit on Fairy Tales and Tall Tales!
After learning all about the characteristics of Fairy Tales and Tall Tales, the students worked up quite the appetite! They celebrated with a Tall Tale-themed brunch featuring colossal-sized pancakes, blueberries, and maple syrup from Maine, the home state of the one and only Paul Bunyan! 🥞🫐🍁

To make their celebration even more fun, they created Paul Bunyan and Babe puppets and reenacted some of their favorite scenes from the story!

It was the perfect and most delicious way to celebrate everything they had learned throughout their first unit!

Mrs. Bigler introduced math manipulative tool bags that her kindergarteners will use daily to represent numbers in many ways! Students practiced writing numbers on whiteboards and using tools like ten frames and counting bears to show each number. 🔢🧸✏️

Today was a BIG day for some of our littlest learners... the first day of preschool! 🎉

In Social Studies, Ms. Bell’s students teamed up to create posters teaching their classmates about public and private services in our community. They did an awesome job collaborating, sharing ideas, and learning from one another.

Mrs. Sanders’ 4th graders used the math RACE rubric to practice scoring sample responses! RACE stands for restate, answer, cite, and explain —a great sequence of writing to show math understanding!
