📝Grant funding Approved! The $10,000 grant from the California Fire Foundation made a direct and meaningful impact on the Tuolumne County Fire Department’s ability to protect both firefighters and the community we serve. With these funds, we were able to outfit 16 firefighters with new helmets and ESS goggles, significantly improving safety, visibility, and overall effectiveness on the fire line. In addition, 16 new hose packs were purchased for our volunteer engines, ensuring crews are better equipped for rapid deployment and structure protection operations. Thank you California Fire Foundation for supporting Tuolumne County Fire Department and the safety of our Firefighters. These grants are written and submitted by your Tuolumne County/ CAL FIRE schedule A Firefighters

⚡️Electrical vehicle fire ⚡️
UPDATE 6/8/26 at 11:02 p.m.- TCFD and GCSD have contained the fire. The lithium ion batteries have cooled to a temperature that is safe for transportation by tow. These electric vehicle incidents take an extended amount of time-6 hours for this incident- and water usage to cool the batteries & stop them from re-ignition.

6/8/26 at 2:16 p.m. Tuolumne County Fire and Groveland CSD Fire are currently at scene of an electric vehicle fire at Mary Laveroni Community Park in Groveland, CA. There is no threat to the vegetation and resources will be committed for an extended period of time trying to cool the lithium Ion batteries, prevent further ignition and chemical runaway reaction. TCFD Engine 761 will be covering GCSD Station 78 until the incident is mitigated.

⚡️Thank you PG&E! ⚡️ Tuolumne County Fire Department would like to give our sincere thanks to Pacific Gas and Electric Company for providing a $10,000 charitable contribution to support our TCFD Pinecrest Station 55 rescue boat program. Boat 554 is cross staffed all summer long from a joint partnership between Pinecrest Permittee’s Association and TCFD Station 55 volunteers that are also employed by the PPA! The rescue equipment purchased consisted of floating back boards, a stokes wheel, life vests for children, adults and rescuers and much needed repairs to our motor and fire pump to remain operational. These items will ease the hike into Cleo’s Bath a little and allow us to utilize the boat for all types of rescues, medical aids and any fire type. TCFD looks forward to continuing our partnership and working together to build a safer and stronger Tuolumne County 🇺🇸
