Leadership Tuolumne County

Leadership Tuolumne County Leadership Tuolumne County Program Leadership Tuolumne County (LTC) is a community education program sponsored by the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce.

LTC was developed in 1992 by a group of business and community leaders including the Chamber of Commerce, Topic Day Committees, and dozens of community participants. The program examines current issues by providing participants an in-depth look at private enterprise, government agencies, organizations, and individuals that make decisions affecting our county every day.

*Docent Training at Columbia State Historic Park*

Columbia, Calif.— Columbia State Historic Park (SHP) announced 2021 docent training classes beginning September 18. Classes are 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for each scheduled Saturday and are held at the park. Attending all six classes is required for becoming a docent at Columbia State Historic Park.

What: Columbia SHP Docent Training

When: Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
September 18, 25; October 2, 16, 23; November 6

Where: Eagle Cotage, Columbia State Historic Park

Cost: $20 for materials

Columbia SHP is looking for individuals with a passion for gold rush history, costuming, living history re-enactments, special events, museum staffing, and school group and public tour leaders. This is a great opportunity to get behind-the-scenes knowledge of the largest gold rush town still in existence. Work with our staff on special events to accomplish exciting reenactments of the gold rush experience. Dress up in 1850s and 1860s costumes and staff venues such as the schoolhouse, Wells Fargo office, Miner’s cabin, and educate visitors about the life of a merchant at the California store.

Volunteering at Columbia is an amazing opportunity for you to make the past come alive. During your time at Columbia, you will meet new friends, learn the history of the park, get a chance to get involved in the park, and teach others about California’s gold rush.

This is a great way to begin a new hobby or passion and become a part of your community, as well as join the California State Parks family. For more information and to get an application, please email Holly Bailey at [email protected].

Here's an update for this year's Tuolumne County Volunteer Fair...

This year, the 2021 Volunteer Fair will be a "TV Show" on Access Tuolumne and not a live event. Please help us "spread the word" about this change, so our community members don't arrive at the Motherlode Fairgrounds expecting the "normal" event.

Each Non-profit organization has recorded a 2.5 minute segment explaining what they do and how they use volunteers. All of these individual recordings will be compiled into a "TV Show" and shown the day of the Volunteer Fair, starting a 4 PM.

On that day, you can access the show by clicking on this link: https://accesstuolumne.org/ and then clicking on "Watch Live". You can view the show on your TV, computer, and mobile device!

For those who miss the show on that day, you can also watch it "On Demand" any time during the year by clicking on: https://media.accesstuolumne.org/CablecastPublicSite/?channel=1
and searching for the Volunteer Fair Show. You can also go to our website, https://tcvfair.org/, to learn more about each Nonprofit Organization.

During these times, our "wonderful" Nonprofit Organizations would love to hear from you. Volunteering is a rewarding experience for all age groups, including children accompanied by a parent, high school students, all the way through our talented senior citizens.

Please share this post with your friends! Thank You! 😄
