Sonora High School

Sonora High School We A.R.E. Sonora High! Sonora High School is located in the beautiful foothills of California’s historic Gold Country.

The Sonora Union High School District, a place where students feel a sense of ownership and recognition, is committed to providing a personal educational program that engages students in a challenging, broad-based curriculum where they recognize the value of their education and can define success for themselves. We pride ourselves on offering a truly comprehensive high school experience that meets

a wide variety of student interests. For more than 100 years, our young people have benefited from dedicated staff members, active parents, and generous community boosters. If you are a student, you will not be lost on a big impersonal campus. If you are a parent or supporter of students, there are a lot of opportunities to volunteer for campus activities. American small town pride is reflected in our fine arts programs, athletic teams, and student organizations. If you are new to Tuolumne County, we invite you to become part of our district’s traditions. Feel free to call the schools to schedule a visitation, a counseling appointment or attend one of our district events. Thank you for your interest in our schools and student programs.

Sonora High School would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Distinguished Graduate Dr. Glenn Fox for taking the time to visit campus and speak with Mr. Smith’s Psychology classes.

Dr. Fox, an Assistant Professor of Clinical Entrepreneurship in the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, shared his inspiring journey from Sonora High School student to USC professor, researcher, and entrepreneur. His work focuses on entrepreneurial mindset development, emotion regulation, and the neuroscience of gratitude and empathy.

Students were captivated by Dr. Fox’s message about the power of intrinsic motivation, the importance of gratitude, and how these qualities can positively impact both personal success and overall well-being. By sharing his experiences and insights, Dr. Fox demonstrated how curiosity, perseverance, and a commitment to lifelong learning can open doors to extraordinary opportunities.

We are incredibly proud to call Dr. Fox a Sonora High School Distinguished Graduate and appreciate his willingness to give back to the next generation of Wildcats. Thank you, Dr. Fox, for inspiring our students to dream big, work hard, and recognize the power of gratitude in shaping their futures.
