UPDATED SCHEDULE 6/5/26- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE‼️ ROAD CLOSURE (Twain Harte) ⚠️ Tuolumne County Road Crews will be performing road paving operations necessitating a full closure on the following county-maintained road(s):
• Golf Club Drive from Marquis Drive to the end
• Sonora Drive from Lakeview Drive to Golf Club Drive.

Work is anticipated to take place Monday, June 8, 2026 through Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. These portions of Golf Club Drive & Sonora Drive will be closed to through traffic while crews are working in the area; however, residents will continue to have access to their driveways by means of a detour through Lakeview Drive with delays of up to 20 minutes.

Please be aware of all construction signs and/or traffic control personnel in the construction zone.

The public can continue to monitor road closures on the County website at https://www.tuolumnecounty.ca.gov/434/Road-Operations

Upcoming Road Closures ⚠️ Tuolumne County Road Crews will be performing road paving operations necessitating a full closure on the following county-maintained road(s):

Tuolumne County to Receive Over $18 Million for Storm Recovery Infrastructure Projects 💸 Tuolumne County Public Works is pleased to announce the initiation of a major federal funding award totaling $18.6 million from the California Department of Housing and Community Development. This funding allows the County to address long-term recovery needs following severe storm events and proactively harden public infrastructure against future threats.

Planned project highlights:
• Storm damage repairs on Tuolumne Road North, Big Hill Road, Wards Ferry Road, Italian Bar Road, and Longeway Road.
• Drainage improvements, including county-wide culvert repairs/resizing and improvements at Standard Park and County public service buildings.
• Public safety & emergency preparedness through roadside fuel reduction and evacuation signage for vulnerable communities.
• Partnership with Groveland and Twain Harte Community Services Districts and Tuolumne Parks and Recreation District.

The County is currently coordinating with the state to finalize the funding award. Individual projects will be authorized after state review, with specific details to be provided at that time. Project work will be completed before 2030.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, between 8:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M., the Tuolumne County Solid Waste Division & the Greater Valley Conservation Corps will host a mattress, tire, and e-waste recycling event for Tuolumne County residents. The event will be held at a new location. This and all other quarterly collection events will be held in Jamestown at the Tuolumne County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility located at 17855 High School Road.

Residents are permitted to recycle up to 9 car or passenger truck tires. Tires must be off the rim. NO tractor-trailer or tractor tires, please. All mattresses and box springs must be dry, unsoiled, and free from bed bug infestation. If you have more than 8 mattresses, please contact the Greater Valley Conservation Corps at (209)588-8992. In addition to mattresses and tires, you may also recycle e-waste at this event. Greater Valley Conservation Corps staff will be on hand to provide education and outreach to County residents.

Lime Kiln Road Crossing Curtis Creek Bridge Replacement Upcoming Partial Road Closures 🚨 Sinclair General Engineering Construction, Inc. has resumed the construction of a new bridge and related roadway improvements on Lime Kiln Road where it crosses Curtis Creek, along with the removal of the old bridge.

Important points regarding the project are as follows:
• One-lane closures will be in effect on Lime Kiln Road near Kennedy Road and Es La Vida Road starting Monday, June 1st, and will continue through November 2026.
• Flaggers will be present while construction of the new bridge is occurring. Workers and traffic control will be present from 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
• When flaggers are not present drivers must abide by the temporary stop signs near Kennedy Road and Es La Vida Road.
• The new bridge will be opened to the public beginning in October 2026. Traffic control will continue through project completion in November 2026, weather permitting.
• Access will be maintained to all driveways and side streets for the duration of the project.

• Jacksonville Road from Karlee Lane to Quartz Avenue – Tuesday, June 2, 2026 through Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This portion of Jacksonville Road will be closed to through traffic while crews are working in the area; however, residents will continue to have access to their driveways with delays of up to 20 minutes.

The Tuolumne County Department of Public Works’ roadway striping contractor, Central Striping Service, Inc., will be performing road lane striping on various County-maintained roads throughout the County. Work is anticipated to resume on Monday, June 1, 2026 and continue through the end of June.

There will be minor delays in the vicinity of work, as the stripes are being painted. Please use caution: the freshly painted stripes immediately behind the paint trucks will be wet; please avoid driving on them. Also be aware of all construction signs or traffic control personnel in the construction zone.
