The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Training Division is now accepting applications for the 2026 Sheriff’s Academy, beginning January 2026!

We’re seeking motivated individuals ready to serve their communities with respect, courage, and professionalism.

📋 Agency Sponsorship:
Law enforcement agencies may submit names of potential candidates for sponsorship.

🎓 Independent Candidates:
Individuals may apply on their own by submitting a Personal History Statement to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Selected applicants must complete a physical exam, psychological exam, and urinalysis.

🗓 Application Deadline: December 1, 2025
📅 Academy Dates: January – October 2026

The following is a release from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office. HJISD would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Hardin County Sheriff's Office and the Hardin County Constable's Office for their efforts

"On September 16, 2024, we were notified of suspicious online activity involving a 16-year-old male student at Hardin-Jefferson ISD. District administrators and law enforcement officials from Hardin County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation that ultimately revealed online postings of a threatening nature, including a post that specifically mentioned the school. As the investigation progressed, the student was withdrawn from enrollment at HJ-ISD.

Court orders and subpoenas were used to gather electronic evidence that identified this student as the source of the online postings. He has been charged with the felony offense of making a Terroristic Threat. He has been arrested and was received by the Hardin County Juvenile Detention Center this morning.

School district officials were quick to notify law enforcement and through this cooperative effort, we were able to quickly assess the threat and take the necessary action to ensure the continued safety of the students and district personnel."

Liberty County Sheriff's Office to host Police Academy 2024

The Liberty County Sheriff's Office will host a Police Academy through College of the Mainland beginning March 18, 2024, through December 6, 2024. The classes will be held in the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Training Room Monday through Friday, 6:00 pm till 10:00 pm. Located at 5345 SH 146 N, Liberty, Texas 77575.
If you have ever dreamed of starting a career in Law Enforcement here is your chance. All classes will be taught by highly qualified TCOLE Instructors. The academy will prepare you for the state TCOLE test that each participant must successfully pass to obtain a Basic Peace Officer License. Upon successful completion of the state exam, you will be ready to apply for a law enforcement position anywhere in the state of Texas.
