Always proud and willing to be apart of a very special day! Thank you Firelands for the invite.

FMS and FHS came together in honor of Patriot Day. Students showed appreciation to local first responders while the district honored the 25th anniversary with a red, white and blue day.

Twenty-five years later, the fire service still remembers.

On September 11, 2001, 343 members of the FDNY answered the call, entered the towers, and climbed toward danger while others were trying to escape it. They were firefighters, officers, brothers, fathers, sons, husbands, and friends. They went to work that morning expecting another day of service—and gave everything they had trying to save others.

From one fire department to another, we understand the bond that exists between those who wear the uniform. We may serve in different cities and different states, but the oath is the same: to protect, to serve, and to go when others cannot.

Today, we remember the 343, the other first responders and civilians who were lost, and the countless responders who have suffered the lasting effects of that day.

We remember the calls they answered.
We remember the lives they tried to save.
We remember the families who never got to see them come home.
And we remember the courage it took to climb those stairs.

The bells may have gone silent that day, but their legacy never will.

343 heroes. One brotherhood. One promise.

NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸🚒

This change is being made with the safety and well-being of our students and staff as our top priority. High school students will report according to the schedule below, as the high school building is equipped with air conditioning.

Please review the updated schedule below:
Tuesday, September 1: 9th Grade reports
Wednesday, September 2: Grades 9–12 report
Thursday, September 3: Grades 1–6 and 9-12 report
Friday, September 4: Grades K–12 report

*KRA appointments will continue as scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

We understand that changes to the school calendar can create challenges for families, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we make this adjustment. Our goal is to provide students with a safe and comfortable environment as we begin the new school year.

Tonight's Open Houses will continue as planned.

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of Firelands Local Schools. We look forward to welcoming our students back for another great school year!
