Barbara B. Rose Elementary School Barbara B. Rose Elementary is one of eight elementary schools in the Barrington 220 School District. Rose Elementary opened in 1999 in South Barrington.

Our school mascot is the Stingray.

7:30 - 3:30 It is named after Barbara Blanchard Rose, who served on the Board of Education from 1977-1981 and as a volunteer for Barrington Youth Services. In 2019 Rose celebrated 20 years of excellence in education. In 2014 Rose earned the prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award. We enjoy a diverse student body and exceptional parent involvement. Our staff is committed to implementing best practice instruction and building a relationship-centered learning community. Our school culture places high expectations on academics and social-emotional competencies.

Student Council Kona Ice Fundraiser

When: Friday, September 25, 2026
Cost: $5.00

Students will be able to pick one flavor. All students will get the same size. Proceeds will go towards Barrington Giving Day and other endeavors by the Rose School Student Council.

Parents may opt to send in $5, $10, or $20 if they wish to contribute extra to the Student Council or donate for a student in need.

Bus Buddies! Rose fifth graders demonstrate kindness, empathy, responsibility and leadership as Bus Buddies. The older students walk kindergarten and first graders to their after school destinations. As they take their buddies to the bus, Kids Klub or the pickup line, they get to know their younger friends. The littles are excited as they wait for their buddies to pick them up in the classroom.
