Another positive outcome for City of South Beloit! While the weather wasn’t perfect, the Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful mud volleyball event drew hundreds of participants, various food trucks, and endless entertainment for everyone!

Thank you to everyone that had their hand in making this event a success, see you all at the City Park next year for this annual event!!

One of my goals, just over 6 years ago, when I got on the City of South Beloit City Council was to improve our City’s Streets. At that time, I read through a street study that was done in 2016, and quickly realized that the Motor Fuel Tax alone would not be able to sustain any real or meaningful improvements to the City streets.

In the 1 year since the implementation of the 1% Sales Tax, the City has $1 Million to improve it’s roads. This upcoming streets project is thanks in large part to that Sales Tax implementation.

There is a 5 year plan to improve our streets that corresponds with the 5 year expiration date on the 1% Sales Tax.

I am proud of the work that has been done during my time on this council to improve our roads.

Street improvement work is expected to begin in two South Beloit neighborhoods in the next few weeks.

This upgrade to the City of South Beloit City Park brings countless visitors to the Park, is low cost, low maintenance, and is relatively flood proof. Which are all important features for a park that is prone to flooding at a moment’s notice.
