It's always inspiring to join the 100 Black Men of South Bend's annual Black-Tie Gala. This year's theme, The Power of Presence, captured the power of leadership, youth mentorship, education, and uplifting the next generation. South Bend is stronger thanks to the mentors who show up for our youth everyday and to all who supported by showing up tonight.

What a star-studded evening at last night's South Bend Community Hall of Fame! It was uplifting to see so many local legends, community leaders, and friends under one roof to celebrate these seven remarkable individuals whose talents and contributions helped make South Bend such a special place. It was an evening filled with inspiring stories, great company, and South Bend pride! Congratulations to all the 2026 inductees!

Today, Mayor Mueller announced a draft framework for data center development in the City of South Bend. The framework sets standards for what every data center project must meet and how projects will return value to residents. The SBSO hired Alastair Willis as its new music director in May 2017. Since then, the conductor has made the orchestra and the community his home.

Route changes begin Tuesday, September 8, and Transpo is offering FREE FARES for a limited time to help passengers adjust to the new routes and schedules.

💰 All passenger rides are FREE!

We encourage passengers to use this week to familiarize themselves with the new routes and schedules.

Please note: Passengers with active Transpo passes will not be reimbursed during the free-fare period.

The Parisi legacy continues! After 44 years, Parisi's Ristorante that South Bend has loved closed its doors, but yesterday broke ground for The Parisi, a 38 unit condominum community near Notre Dame.

In speaking with Mr. Parisi, he told me that he looks forward to retirement, living in one of the units, and letting others take care of business.

Congratulations to the Parisi family and to Seven Diamonds LLC development group! We look forward to the ribbon cutting ceremony in July 2027.
