Career Academy High School We are a tuition-free public charter school serving grades 6-12. Hands-on education w/ Microsoft IT training, biomedical science, engineering, and more!

Career Academy is a college and career-focused middle school and high school. It opened in August, 2011 with 7th, 8th, and 9th grades. We've grown to accept enrollment in grades 6-12 and have opened a second campus to serve grades K-5 at the Success Academy in South Bend. We believe project-based learning is advantageous for two reasons. First, project-based learning appeals to students who do not already have a strong academic orientation. Second, project-based learning is beneficial for the development of work-oriented skills, including the ability to work in teams, personal initiative, leadership, and communication skills. We implement hands-on project-based instruction at every grade level. Students are required to complete all courses required by Indianaโ€™s academic standards and have the opportunity to receive dual credit in classes as they progress through school with significant opportunities (including internships, co-ops, job shadows, informational interviews, etc.) available in the junior and senior years.

๐ŸŒŸ Teacher of the Week: Maddi Daniel ๐ŸŒŸ

This weekโ€™s Teacher of the Week is Maddi Daniel!

Ms. Daniel has been part of the Career Academy family since the very beginning. Over the years, she has dedicated herself to helping students grow, learn, and prepare for their futures.

Her favorite course to teach is ELA Labs, where she enjoys helping students strengthen their literacy skills and gain confidence in reading, writing, and communication.

Outside of school, Ms. Daniel enjoys spending time with her family. She is married and has three children, one dog, and three reptiles, making for a fun and lively household. Her love for family is matched by her commitment to supporting students and celebrating their successes.

When asked about her proudest school moment, Ms. Daniel shared that it is every graduation day. Watching students walk across the stage and achieve a milestone they have worked so hard for is a reminder of why she loves being an educator and part of the Career Academy community.

Some of her favorite things include seafood and tacos, Nerd Clusters, and Sour Patch Kids. Her favorite movies include Practical Magic and Pretty Woman, and when itโ€™s time to relax, she enjoys watching Friends and Schittโ€™s Creek.

Career Academy High School Starfish Award

Career Academy High School is proud to celebrate Ashleigh Klatt as the September recipient of the Starfish Award.

The Starfish Award is a monthly, peer-to-peer recognition given to a CAHS teacher who makes a meaningful difference in studentsโ€™ lives every day. Each month, the previous recipient passes the award on to another teacher who embodies the spirit of the Starfish Story: even one act of care can make a difference.

Ashleigh has been dedicated to CANOPS for four years and currently supports English and EL students across their courses. She was also chosen by the Class of 2026 to speak at graduation, a moment she describes as one of her proudest at school.

Join us in congratulating Ashleigh and thanking her for the dedication, heart, and support she gives to our students every day.
