Solid Waste District of St Joseph County says "[Lithium batteries] can be brought to the Household Hazardous Waste drop-off at 828 W. Kerr St. South Bend anytime during normal business hours. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30-4 and Saturday 8-12. You just need to be a resident of St. Joseph County Indiana. The EV Display event at South Bend's First Friday is this week, September 4, 2026!
Stop by from 5 - 7:30 pm in downtown South Bend to see a variety of plug-in hybrids and all-electric vehicles and talk to local electric vehicle drivers.
